Why blog?

When I opened JP’s Coffee & Espresso Bar in 1993 there were no coffee consultants. No coffee schools, no barista training and no information to teach one how to open a coffee shop. There were no websites or blogs or forums, or even an internet really, that one could use to gain information.

Today the internet brings the world to your desktop. And even with a plethora of information to sift through, it is difficult to find real-life experience from an overcoming coffee business. Most of my time today is spent consulting and writing but I still actively own and operate JP’s. And from that coffee and business experience this blog originates.
