Painting Black Metal Headboard

0

The painting of its black metal headboard provides an immediate update. Since headboards are not touched as often as other types of furniture, almost any paint finish is possible, including a matte, contemporary and sophisticated or a blinding metallic sheen. Start by separating the header of the frame, leaving aside the hardware and the movement of the header of a well-ventilated covered work space. Put on trestle or a high work surface, protecting the surroundings with protective fabrics.

Paint black metal headboard, place an 80 grit sanding disc to an orbital sander. Sand all sides of the metal headboard, brush the dust and smooth the surface with a 180 grit sandpaper disc. Sand hand slots or other hard to reach areas with a sanding block. Sanding removes gloss and softens the surface to provide a solid grip on the paint. Do not remove all the finish.

Remove the rust with a wire brush or a drill equipped with a wire wheel before painting a metal headboard. Head sand with 80 grit sandpaper to remove paint, if applicable. Do not remove all the metal finish. Skip this step if the header is in good condition. Vacuum the work area and clean the head with a damp cloth or an anti static cloth. Tape or cover any part you do not want painted. If you are painting black metal headboard, proceed by cleaning the paint immediately to prevent the development of instant oxidation.
